Downloading Help:
Units or lesson sets of documents may include multiple files so links are a single compressed (.zip) file
Teachers may also browse to the subject folder pathname ( eg ) to view the individual files listed. Teachers may also choose to browse by author. All the downloadable files are stored in the /lessons directory. The document formats vary from .doc, .pdf, .pub, .ppt or other types. If anyone needs assistance with adapting or using these formats please inquire.
Uploading your submissions to share:
Units or lesson sets should be identified and classified. The digital formats are your choice but consider the source- many teachers do not have MS Publisher, InDesign, or Office2007, etc. Macusers of Keynote or Pages
can share by exporting as .ppt or.doc.
Although we are encouraging sharing and adaptations with appropriate author credit, a .pdf created document is ideal if you wish to limit the degree adaptation by other teachers. It is a good idea to view our lesson plan guide before you post anything.
Please try to use the upload form here to help us collate and manage the array of files. GoogleDocs users can also forward their link to literateowl@gmail.com .
Share your lessons with Web2.0 :
Units or lesson sets can be distributed via web2.0 tools such as GoogleDocs, Facebook BoxNet app or Zimbra.
If any teacher-librarian would like to collaborate on a lesson online give us a call- we'd like to try some new methods.
Share your lessons with BCTLA members :
The BCTLA is working hard to support and promote school library programs all over BC. Their Bookmark journal and VirtualBookmark blog are ideal methods to engage your interest and collaborate with TL's provincewide. Gillian Hayward's Masters project( SD23 Kelowna) is being supportedby COTLA with this web site's Lesson Vault. Most submissions by our fellow TL's are also asked permission to publish with the Bookmark. and theVirtualBookmark.

Sharing Hardcopy Lessons only:
If your library units or lesson sets are only in hardcopy paper format, you can still have them published. With your permission, we will digitize your content for everyone to share. Mail copies to us! We want to help you share your experience and talents! Another quick method is to use a multifunction copier/scanner to convert your documentsto .pdf format. Another method is to install a ' pdf creator ' and convert a file directly from your computer. Either Adobe Acrobat or an inexpensive driver like CUTEpdf. ...
